机械密封的故障大体上都是由异常的泄漏、异常的磨损、异常的扭矩等现象出现后才被人们所知道。造成故障的原因大致有如下四方面：
The failure of mechanical seal is generally known only after the occurrence of abnormal leakage, abnormal wear, abnormal torque and other phenomena. The causes of the failure are as follows:
1、机械密封的设计选型不对；

2、机械密封质量不好；
2. The mechanical seal quality is not good.
3、使用或安装机械密封的机器本身精度达不到要求；
3. The accuracy of the machine using or installing the mechanical seal does not meet the requirements;
4、机器运行操作错误。
